Mosaic connects your computer straight to your teammates'. If two people can't connect, this check shows whether this network lets Mosaic through. It runs in your browser: apart from asking Mosaic's site for a relay pass, nothing is sent to us.

Open it on the computer that can't connect, on the same network (with the same VPN or DNS app on, if you use one).

Two computers then connect directly. This needs your network to let them find a route.

Where two networks allow no direct route, Mosaic connects through an encrypted relay. It needs only an ordinary web connection.
